NEW! Business Spotlight (see Announcements Page) THE LEBANON VALLEY HISTORICAL SOCIETY ANNOUNCES THE ANNUAL POTLUCK PICNIC and A MOVIE WHEN: MONDAY, JUNE 15, 2009 6:00 PM WHERE: SHAKER MEADOWS Bed & Breakfast, 14209 Route 22
Free and open to the public. Bring a dish to share. Wine, soft drinks, coffee and tea will be provided. We’ll also have paper plates, cups, napkins, etc., but we encourage you to bring your own tableware to reduce waste.
Following the picnic, we will view The Shaker Swamp Project, a 30-Minute documentary film by Ted Timreck, which portrays discoveries in the 500-acre Shaker Swamp. The project is identifying the medicinal plants still found in the Swamp that were the basis of Shaker remedies and later Tilden pharmaceuticals.
Those who saw the film last year should still attend new footage has been added, and Ted will update us on the status of the project. Some project participants will be on hand to answer questions.
